Rising redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Madison Norris has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal according to a statement put out on his personal twitter account. He thanked the staff and coaches at Indiana University and said that after a discussion with his family and the IU coaches he has decided to test the transfer waters.

Norris arrived as part of the 2018 recruiting class after a stellar high school career at Hamilton South Eastern where he stood out in both football and track. Norris was the 2018 state title winner in the 110-meter hurdles. Norris played in two games at IU and had won Scout Team Player of the Week for his efforts leading up to the Michigan game last season.

By entering his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal, Norris can be contacted by other teams, however he can pull his name out and return to Indiana at anytime. Hoosier running back Sampson James had entered the NCAA Transfer Portal earlier this year and chose to return to IU. Norris is the seventh Hoosier to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal since the 2020 cycle.
