After missing the entire 2020 season due to injury, Indiana defensive back Raheem Layne and tight end Kham Taylor have announced they will return in 2021. Layne had 13 starts in his IU career and played in 37 games for the Hoosiers since 2017. Taylor did not play this season after transferring from South Alabama.

Layne has made 82 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, six pass breakups and a forced fumble. “You take a guy like Raheem Layne, who will be back with us, he is a very gifted player that can play multiple positions. He is probably a guy that can play them all.” Allen said on signing day. Layne was also Indiana’s 2019 Special Teams Play of the Year.

Layne and Taylor join Michael Ziemba as Hoosiers who have decided to come back for the 2021 season.

TE #85 Kham Taylor

After transferring in from South Alabama prior to the 2020 season, Taylor missed the entirety of his first season in Bloomington due to injury. A strong blocking tight end, he should help IU in the run game and give time for some of Indiana’s young tight ends to bulk up.
