The Hoosiers received word that another starter will be opting back in for the 2021 season as offensive lineman Mackenzie Nworah decided to take advantage of the extra year of eligibility. Nworah redshirted in 2016. During his five seasons with Indiana Nworah has played in 27 games with 15 starts. He was an Academic All-Big Ten selection and an Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List Nominee in 2020.

“Mackenzie Nworah has played a lot of football for us over the years. From 2017 to now, he has played and started in several games. He has done an okay job. There are things that he has got to get better at.” Offensive line coach Darren Hiller said earlier this season.

Nworah will provide much needed depth along the offensive line and will allow the Hoosiers to move others around if needed. He is the fifth Hoosier to announce his intent to return on Tuesday.
