The Hoosiers once again reached down to the Sunshine State to bolster their recruiting class. Three-star safety Josh Sanguinetti, out of University School in Fort Lauderdale, has signed with the Hoosiers. IU had been in the market for another safety in this class and landed a solid prospect. His six-foot-two frame reminds some of former Hoosier Jonathan Crawford and if he is anywhere close to where Crawford was as a Hoosier, IU found a gem.
Sanguinetti has really solid ball skills. He played both offense and defense at University School. On offense he made 54 career catches for 1,041 yards and 16 touchdowns. He was a big play receiver. Defensively, Sanguinetti had 29 total tackles his senior year and recorded five career interceptions according to Max Preps.
Sanguinetti held 37 offers and IU fought off Power Five schools Boston College and Mississippi State for his services. His offer list also included Auburn, Baylor, Duke, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, N.C. State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Stanford, Syracuse, Tennessee, USC, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
