Kicker Nathanael Snyder From Center Grove Will Walkon at IU

The Hoosiers already have an All-Conference caliber kicker from Greenwood, IN in Griffin Oakes, on Tuesday night former Center Grove kicker Nathanael Snyder tweeted he will be attending Indiana and plans to walk-on to the team. Snyder will join fellow Center Grove specialist, punter Drew Conrad at IU.

Snyder had impressive high school stats for a team that went on to win the Indiana State Championship in 2015. He connected on 95% of his extra points and hit 10-of-15 field goals with a long of 53 yards. Snyder also had a 73.5% touchback rate during his senior season. He was named a Kohl's Kicking All-American in 2014. He originally was committed to play at Army.

He is a strong, consistent, and powerful kicker. He has received All-American honors for his in-game kickoffs during the 2014 season and won the Kickoff competition at the Kohl's Midwest Showcase and was a finalist 2/2 times at the National Showcase. He is from the Midwest region and can kick in any type of weather, he has played in extremely windy conditions (45mph+), rain, sleet, snow, freezing weather, hot and humid weather, and in high pressure situations on live TV multiple times. His high school football team competes at the highest level possible for high school football in Indiana. His team has been to the state's semi-state championship 4x in a row. During Nathanael's time as a starter for Center Grove, his team has been ranked as high as the 13th best team in the nation on MaxPreps. Crowds at these high school games during regular season play can reach over 10,000+. Nathanael has the ability to punt well as well. Nathanael is a well-rounded kicker having to ability to produce a 76 yard in-game kickoff, always has nice hang-time on his kicks (3.8-4.1), is a very consistent kicker, and has the ability to hit long field goals (64 yard long in practice, 53 In Game). His "A" ball on his punts are Division 1 level. He has the confidence to compete at any college program in the country as a kicker and can punt if needed. Nathanael puts up good numbers in the weight room and is not afraid to make a play or tackle if needed. Nathanael is only 17 and still has room to get better and achieve new goals. He is coachable and a good student that challenges himself with college and honor level classes.
