The Indiana Hoosiers received their first commitment of the 2026 high school recruiting cycle with offensive lineman Samuel Simpson out of River Falls, Wisconsin. 247Sports ranks Simpson as the second best player in Wisconsin this cycle. IU beat out Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa State for his services. Simpson is listed at 6’4” and 285 pounds.

Simpson played both ways as a junior in 2024 on both lines. He played left tackle on offense where he routinely put defenders on their back and got to the second level. On defense, Simpson played defensive tackle using his strength to disrupt opponents offense.
