Hoosiers Land Five-Star Kicking Prospect Bryce Taylor of Bloomington South

The Indiana Hoosiers gained a commitment from Bloomington South kicker Bryce Taylor on Wednesday evening. Taylor is rated a five-star prospect by Kohl’s Professional Camps, an authority on rating specialists.

“Taylor earned a 5 star rating at the Underclassman Challenge. He scored 14 points on field goals and 108.8 points on kick offs. Taylor has the leg talent college programs are looking for. He also attended a winter 2023 Showcase Camp. He was able to earn an invite to the Underclassman Challenge through his strong charts and drill work performance. He scored 7 points on field goals and 106.05 points on kick offs. Taylor's ability showed in the drill phase of camp. He has strong leg and with continued development could be a great college kicker!”

The Bloomington native’s leg helped led the Panthers to a conference title in 2023. Taylor hit all eight of his field goals with a long of 47 yards and knocked home 51-of-54 extra points. In three years of varsity football, Taylor has made 12-of-13 field goals and 107-of-114 extra points.

Taylor also punted and handled kickoff duties for South. In 70 career kickoffs he averages 45.9 yards in three seasons. Taylor handled punting duties for the first time as a junior and averaged just under 40 yards a punt and downed nine inside the 20-yard line on just 22 boots.
