The Indiana Hoosiers added tight end Khameron Taylor to the team as a graduate transfer from the University of South Alabama on Wednesday morning. Taylor is six-foot-four and 270 pounds and adds the veteran depth that Indiana head coach Tom Allen is looking for at the position.
“We are really excited about adding Kham to our program," head coach Tom Allen said in a release from the university. "He brings experience to the tight end room. Other than Peyton Hendershot, we have a young group that needs some depth. Kham is a big, strong blocker with untapped potential in the pass game. He has a great combination of size, length and athleticism that immediately helps us become a better football team."
Taylor started nine games for the Jaguars last season while making two catches for 18 yards, including a touchdown against Nebraska. Taylor is a very physical blocker and should help take some of the pressure off a younger offensive line.
During his time at USA, Taylor made 24 appearances with 14 starts. He has five career catches for 67 yards. Taylor joins an already deep, but young tight end group that was looking for a very good blocker who can help in that aspect. 2020 will be Taylor’s final year of eligibility.
