Former Hoosier linebacker Cam Jones was the first Hoosier since Dan Godsil in 2019 to be selected to the Senior Bowl. The Senior Bowl is the premiere college football all-star game where players get a chance to practice and play in front of NFL coaches and scouts down in Mobile, Alabama.

Jones was recently interviewed at the Senior Bowl by Russell Brown

Brown asked Jones about his leadership qualities, something he excelled at in his time at IU.

“Being at Indiana Coach Allen put the defense on my shoulder. I’m the team captain so I had to make sure the defense was set, and everyone was in the right position. Everybody knew their job. Being a leader, you can’t just flip it on and off, so I try to be consistent each and every day.” Jone said.

Jones's leadership was shown when he was on the field. His leadership during the Hoosier's first win can be largely contributed to Jones.

Indiana is home to Jones, and he hopes to be the next Indiana’s next Linebacker to be playing in the NFL, along with former Hoosier Linebackers Micah McFadden and Marcelino McCrary-Ball.

Jones knows what he needs to do to get drafted. When asked about what coaches are looking for in linebackers.

“On the defensive side of the ball, you got to take balls away and hustle. You look at other teams that force fumbles and interceptions, they take the ball away. The teams that were successful took the ball away.” Jones said.

Jones had game-changing turnovers while in Bloomington. He hopes to make a play or two in the Senior Bowl and really put scouts on their radar. The Senior Bowl will be played on February 4th and televised on the NFL Network.
