#CrimsonArmy15 Snags WR Marqui Hawkins From UAB

When the University of Alabama at Birmingham decided to shut their football program down after the 2014 season, one had to think that coaches from around the country would swoop in and pick up the some of the pieces. On Wednesday night one of those pieces, wide receiver Marqui Hawkins, has decided to transfer to Indiana. Hawkins is the 11th commit in the 2015 class for the Hoosiers and will be immediately eligible and have three years to play for head coach Kevin Wilson. Hawkins announced his decision on Twitter Wednesday evening.

Hawkins, from powerhouse Carver High School in Georgia, originally was a 3-star prospect and committed to play at Florida. Hawkins did not play at UAB this past year. The Hoosier staff should be stoked to have the services of the 6’1” receiver after a 2014 season that saw a lack of depth at the position that was plagued by drops. Hawkins will enroll at Indiana in January to participate in spring practices.
