There are now 87 days until the Hoosiers season opener against Ohio State on August 31st. Today we are looking at incoming freshman, wide receiver Ty Fryfogle.
Ty Fryfogle
-Height: 6’2”
-Weight: 205 pounds
-Hometown: Lucedale, Mississippi
-Position: Wide Receiver
Fryfogle was a late addition to the Hoosiers’ 2017 recruiting class as IU was undergoing massive staff changes on the offensive side of the ball. Wide receivers coach Grant Heard is a major reason why Fryfogle landed at Indiana. “He’s (Heard) been there every step of the way,” Fryfogle told Patrick Magee of the Sun Hearld, “we’ve been close for two years now. It’s exciting.”
Fryfogle had a tremendous senior year at George County H.S. as he caught 89 passes for 1,432 yards and 14 touchdowns. His efforts earned him first team all-state honors, first team all-region honors, and a spot of the Sun Herald All-South Mississippi Team.
The Hoosiers are deep at receiver and it could be difficult for Fryfogle to crack the two-deep in his first year, however he is very talented and coach Heard loves to play bigger receivers, so if he has a solid fall camp, don’t be surprised to see Ty Fryfogle be in the rotation at receiver.
