The 2019 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff is officially coming to an end. Tomorrow the Hoosiers will kickoff their campaign against the Ball State Cardinals at Lucas Oil Stadium. Today, though, we look at Juwan Burgess. He is number one on our list, but will wear number five this season.

Juwan Burgess was one of the more highly-touted defensive players the Hoosiers brought in as part of their 2017 recruiting class. He played both ways at Plant High School in Tampa, Florida and was teammates with Thomas Allen, Micah McFadden and Whop Philyor. Burgess redshirted his first season on campus.

Last year, Burgess played in all 12 of Indiana’s games and made 25 total tackles, including two for a loss. Additionally, he broke up one pass and recovered a fumble. This season Burgess is listed as a second-string rover behind Devon Matthews, but he should get plenty of play on the field.
