Countdown to 2019 IUFB Kickoff: Two Days Days (Reese Taylor)
/Written by Andrew Walker
Name - Reese Taylor
Position - DB
Hometown - Indianapolis, IN
Height - 5’11
Weight - 183lb
Hailing from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, Reese Taylor was a force of nature for the Hoosiers in 2018.
The High School standout joined the Hoosiers last year and for the first two games, played DB. After game two, he permanently moved to offense and saw time at running back and wide receiver. Taylor was able to haul in 28 receptions for 174 yards during his tenure as a receiver. As a running back, he was able to rush 15 times for 83 yards. Adding to his ability as an all-around talent, Taylor was able to return three kickoffs for 66 yards total, including a career-long 32 yard return.
In high school, Taylor was a QB under Ben Davis head coach Mike Kirschner. In 2017, Taylor both won Indiana Mr. Football and led nationally ranked No. 5 Ben Davis to a state title after a perfect 14-0 season. During his senior year, he was able to achieve a 72.6% completion percentage, accruing 3,150 yards and a Ben Davis record 40 TD’s on the season.
This year for Indiana, Taylor will slide into the DB spot to play full minutes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Kalen DeBoer or Tom Allen have something special drawn up with his name on it.
