It is another holiday boom for the Indiana Hoosiers’ coaching staff as Reakwon Jones committed to play linebacker for IU after visiting Bloomington this past weekend. Jones was one of three prospects to make official visits to the capital of Hoosier Nation this holiday weekend and committed via Twitter early Monday afternoon.
Jones de-committed from Florida Atlantic University on January 4th after committing to the Owls way back in June and visiting the school at the beginning of December. The 6-2, 210 lb. safety is listed as the 235th best player in the talent rich state of Florida and ranked as the 124th best safety in the nation. He is the seventh defensive recruit, not including athletes, to commit to the Hoosiers in this class. He was also being recruiting by the University of South Florida and University of California. With the Hoosiers depth at linebacker, Jones would likely redshirt the 2015 season to bulk up with time in a college strength and nutrition program. Jones is also the 19th commit to the Hoosiers’ 2015 recruiting class, which now sits at eighth in the Big Ten and 48th nationally. Head coach Kevin Wilson will look to add four more prospects before Signing Day on February 5th.
