Aiden Fisher Loves the Aggressiveness of Indiana's Defense

Aiden Fisher has been dominating on the field this season and loves everything about it. During IU’s last game against Michigan, the offense was struggling in the second half, but when they needed the defense to bring the intensity, they brought it. Aiden Fisher has been a key leader for the defense all season and played amazingly when the team needed him most, getting in on 14 tackles against the Wolverines.

Fisher is ready for anything and everything the offense will throw his way and has been outstanding at trying to ensure as little yardage as possible. He plays fast and physical football and is perfect for Bryant Haines’ defense.

“I love it. A lot of defenses, you’ll look at them, and they’re trying to survive the game and let their offense win it. Here, it’s different. If we need to win a game, our defense will win the game. That’s something I really enjoy. I love the aggressive aspect of it, and I think it fits me and a lot of the players on this defense. They want to get after the quarterback, and they want to get to the ball carrier with bad intentions,” Aiden Fisher responded on how he feels about the aggressive aspect of the defense during an interview on Tuesday.

No matter who it is on the defense, they are giving it their all and swarming the ball. Fisher loves to play aggressively, and the rest of the team follows his lead. The Hoosiers are ready to leave it all on the field every play and Fisher loves it. It’s very apparent that the other players see him as a role model. The have the same hunger for the ball that he does.

“It’s definitely the hunger and the edge that this team has and that starts with Coach Cig. I think the biggest thing with this team, you look at the transfers that came in, you look at the guys that have been here and haven’t won a lot, everybody’s getting this feeling of winning, and we’re going to do everything that we can to make sure that we keep this feeling… I just think the best word I can give to that is just the edge that we play with and the hunger to make sure that we keep this thing rolling.” Fisher talked about why the Hoosiers haven’t fallen through the cracks.

With the biggest game of the season coming up, Fisher and the rest of the defense will have to really step it up when facing an explosive Ohio State offense. In order to come back to Bloomington with a win, the defense will have to keep that hunger and edge so they can immobilize the opposing offense. If they can continue to play with the same intensity, the Hoosiers will have a chance in coming out on top.
