2024 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 93 Days (Robby Harrison)
/Written By Evan Alvarez
Welcome back to the 2024 Hoosier Huddle Countdown! From now until Indiana’s opening day against the FIU Golden Panthers, the Hoosier Huddle staff will feature every player on the Hoosiers football roster for 2024. Today, the featured player as we are 93 days out is #93, Robby Harrison.
Countdown to Kickoff: #93 – Robby Harrison
Height: 6’ 4”
Weight: 311 pounds
Hometown: Greenwood, S.C.
High School: Emerald High School
Class/Position: Redshirt Sophomore / Defensive Lineman
Previous School: Arizona State (2022 season)
Robby Harrison came out of high school in South Carolina with an extremely strong offer sheet, receiving scholarship offers from Arizona State (where he initially played), Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, Kansas State, Michigan, Minnesota, Toledo, Tulane, Washington State, Western Kentucky, and, yes, Indiana University (and more that are not listed). Harrison ranked as a top 20 prospect in South Carolina by Rivals, a top 100 defensive tackle by ESPN, and also lettered in basketball in high school, indicating impressive athleticism being a dual sport athlete.
As you saw, he began his career at Arizona State where he played in three games and redshirted his first season before transferring to Indiana for the 2023 football season. As a redshirt freshman at Indiana, Harrison saw time during the Michigan game, where he logged three total tackles and earned valuable reps to build on moving forward.
Entering his redshirt sophomore season, Harrison is likely looking to earn even more reps on an Indiana defensive line that has reps available to earn. Harrison’s size certainly opens eyes as he pops off a page as a player who could easily become an x-factor on this IU defense with the right coaching and development programs in place. This defense is in need of size, strength, and a workhorse mentality in the trenches - something that Harrison can certainly provide. Robby Harrison has three years of eligibility remaining (including this season), bringing some much needed youth and stability to the program as well.
The Hoosier Huddle countdown to kickoff continues with day 92 tomorrow.
