The Hoosier Huddle countdown to kickoff is underway! For the 100 days leading up to kickoff, we at Hoosier Huddle will feature every player from the 2024 roster in anticipation of Indiana’s first game of the season against Florida International University. Today, we will highlight a redshirt junior entering his second season with the Hoosiers, Marcus Burris Jr.

Hometown: Texarkana, TX
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 286 Pounds
Position: Defensive Line
A great 4-star transfer portal pickup from the previous regime, Marcus Burris enters his second season with the Hoosiers after starting his career with Texas A&M. After two seasons with the Aggies, Burris came to Indiana and was a solid piece to the defensive line last year. Burris saw action in every game last year, starting 8 of them, and finished with 20 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. Now, entering this season, his measurables along with the coaching of Pat Kuntz should take him to the next level.
“It's one thing to be able to coach football, it's another thing to be able to teach football,” said Kuntz. “The smarter you can get your players, the more production you're going to have."
With great size and position versatility, Burris is the exact kind of player that Kuntz should love having at his disposal. Arguably, he is Indiana’s most physically gifted of anyone on the Hoosiers’ defensive line.
