Written by: Zachary Greene

Welcome, Hoosiers fans to the 2023 Hoosier Huddle Countdown! We countdown from 100 days to the beginning of the 2023 Indiana University football season on September 2nd against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Every day, we look at players on the current roster and highlight the players' roles in the upcoming season. Today we have outside linebacker Myles Jackson.

Name: Myles Jackson

Hometown: Jonesboro, Georgia

High School : Mill Creek

Position: Outside Linebacker

Year: Redshirt Sophomore

Jackson enters his second season with the Hoosiers after graduating in the spring. Last season, Jackson was productive giving the Hooisers much needed boosts of energy. He made a momentum swinging interception against Western Kentucky and recovered a forced fumble. Also he scored against Nebraska after recovering a fumble in the end zone.

The two previous season 2020 and 2021 did not go as planned for Jackson with UCLA. 2020 was cut short with a season-ending knee injury and in 2021 Jackson apperaed in seven games receiving minimal playing time.

Out of High School, Jackson was the No.46 ranked prospect in the State of Georgia and made a total of 184 tackles and 16 sacks. He received interest from schools but UCLA and Virginia Tech were the two that stood out before picking UCLA. 247 Profile

This season, Jackson will be relied on be a leader on the defensive front as well as make momentum swinging plays such as he did last year. He won’t have to worry about going to classes as he already received his first diploma in the Spring. Jackson enters the season as a less known name but expect him to make an impact for Hoosiers this season.
