2023 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 72 Days (DJ Moore)
/Written by: Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)
The 2023 edition of the Hoosier Huddle Countdown is officially underway! We are counting down from 100 to the beginning of the 2023 Indiana University football season. Each day, we will look at one (or two) players on the current Indiana football roster and highlight the player’s role in the upcoming season. Today we continue our run of offensive lineman with DJ Moore.
Name: DJ Moore
Hometown: Ft. Wayne, Indiana (Snider)
Position: Offensive Line
Year: Redshirt Freshman
Height/Weight: 6’5”/312 pounds
Social Media: Twitter (@hollywoodmoore)
DJ Moore was a four-star prospect coming out of Ft. Wayne Snider High School in 2022 and the highest ranked offensive lineman to ever play at IU. All of that is good news for the Hoosiers who will try and bring Moore along and get him on the field sooner rather than later. Moore was a Hiller recruit who gave the position some hope because of his ratings. However, he did not see the field in 2022 and redshirted.
“Just so excited about DJ's upside, his potential to be able to keep growing, maybe an inside guy, maybe an outside guy. We don't know. He's played both. Just a big man that excited to get him here and get him training with our football team. Really excited about just the energy he brings.” Indiana head coach Tom Allen said on National Signing Day in December of 2021.
The Hoosiers are hoping that under new offensive line coach Bob Bostad that Moore can develop into a rotational player as a redshirt freshman and work his way into the starting lineup by 2024.
The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff rolls on with Day 71 tomorrow!
