2023 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 49 Days (Zachary Scott)

The Hoosier Huddle countdown to kickoff marches on! For the 100 days leading up to kickoff, we at Hoosier Huddle will feature every player from the 2023 roster in anticipation of Indiana’s first game of the season against Ohio State in Bloomington. Today, we will highlight TE Zachary Scott.

Name: Zachary Scott

Hometown: La Vernia, TX

Position: Tight End

Year: Sophomore

Height/Weight: 6’4”/226 pounds

Scott joined the Hoosiers in December of 2022 after transferring from Blinn Junior College (Texas). He appeared in nine games for Blinn College and had 1 reception.

Scott joins a crowded and competitive tight end room and will likely take a redshirt year and take part in the weekly scout teams. Having bodies in any position room that at least have college experience is a good thing, and with a solid frame, he should be a valuable add to the depth of the roster in workouts and practice. Time will tell if he sees the field during his IU career, but Allen has shown a willingness to reward hard workers with snaps and appearances on special teams.
