2023 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 34 Days (Jeff Utzinger)

The 2023 edition of the Hoosier Huddle Countdown is officially underway! We are counting down from 100 to the beginning of the 2023 Indiana University football season. Each day, we will look at one (or two) players on the current Indiana football roster and highlight the player’s role in the upcoming season. Today we look at linebacker Jeff Utzinger.

Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana

Position: Outside Linebacker

Year: Redshirt Freshman

Height/Weight: 6’3”/222 pounds

Utzinger is a former 2-star prospect out of Indianapolis, Indiana that joined the Hoosiers last season as a preferred walk-on before redshirting. He chose IU over scholarships from Akron, Ball State, Eastern Michigan, and Eastern Kentucky.

Utzinger will join a crowded linebacker room during fall camp in hopes of earning playing time and eventually a scholarship.
