We countdown from 100 days to the beginning of the 2022 Indiana University football season on September 2nd against the Fighting Illini. Every day, we look at players on the current roster and highlight the players' roles in the upcoming season. Today is #67 Khalil Benson.

Position: RT (OL)

Year: Redshirt Sophomore

Khalil Benson is a man that Hoosiers fans should have their guy one. Weighing in at over 300 pounds Benson offers a solid frame and size. He enters his third season in the program after not appearing in any games last season and tearing his ACL in the 2020 season. Benson is in the best shape of his life and ready to compete for the starting gig. He has received good words during practice.

Out of Southaven High School, Benson choose the Hoosiers over Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Kentucky. At Southaven, Benson played Right Guard and showed tremendous ability to move around the box on runs to the left and right. http://www.hudl.com/v/2Evb8N

This upcoming season the Hoosiers are going to need Benson. According to https://www.ourlads.com/ncaa-football-depth-charts/depth-chart/indiana/90728 they currently have Benson stated behind Bedford at the Right Tackle position but Benson is going to be called on and will get playing time. He has done his time and when called on might see himself at the tackle or even guard position.
