The Hoosier Huddle countdown to kickoff is almost in its final month! For the 100 days leading up to kickoff, we at Hoosier Huddle will feature every player from the 2022 roster in anticipation of Indiana’s first game of the season against Illinois in Bloomington. Today, we will highlight two members of the Hoosiers: Connor Hole and David Holloman.

David Holloman (Redshirt Freshman)

Hometown: Auburn Hills, Michigan

Height: 6’0”

Weight: 205 Pounds

Position: Running Back

Tom Allen loves to recruit speed, and that is exactly what he did with second year running back David Holloman. Holloman redshirted the 2021 season after rushing 11 times for 34 yards and returning three kickoffs for 66 yards, but he continues to grow and develop having just turned 19 earlier this month. As a three-sport athlete at Avondale High School in Michigan, Holloman was a 2019 all-conference selection and Sports Illustrated All-American candidate. He ran a 4.29 40-yard dash in the World Bowl Hall of Fame National Combine in Orlando and used that speed to return a punt and kickoff for a touchdown his junior season, along with rushing for over 1200 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Holloman played the maximum 4 games allowed while still being able to redshirt last season and will likely see an expanded role this upcoming season. His speed and ability to catch the ball out of the backfield makes him a threat not only on the ground, but also as a third down receiving back. He has more experienced guys ahead of him on the depth chart, but his speed will surely earn him time. His One Word for 2022 is Represent.
