/Written by Evan Orris
The 2021 Countdown has only 60 days left until the Hoosiers travel to Iowa City to take on the #16 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes. Today we will profile Dalton Davis, the redshirt sophomore defensive lineman
Dalton Davis
Noblesville, Ind.
Redshirt Sophomore
6’1”/262 LBS
The 6’1”, 262-pound defensive lineman is a relatively new face in the Hoosiers’ program. He joined the team as a walk-on for the 2020 season, but did not see any snaps last season, and took a redshirt year as a result.
Coming out of high school, Davis accumulated 189 tackles and 11 sacks throughout his four-year varsity career. He would be awarded four all-county and three all-conference honorees over the course of his career. However, he was not ranked by 247sports.com. As a result, Davis played in Division-II at the University of Findlay.
Davis joined the Hoosiers after playing for the Oilers in 2019. As a true freshman, Davis appeared in eight games for the University of Findlay. He was able to collect 11 tackles, two tackles for a loss, and one sack.
Davis will have to work hard to receive snaps along the defensive line. He will have to compete with Demarcus Elliot, Sio Nofoagatoto’a, and Jaden Hardy, who just transferred from Auburn, for playing time.
