Tyler Knight, 6’5”, 275 pounds, Saint Petersburg, FL (Northside Christian), OT, 247Sports Composite Ranking: 3-star (82.34)

Under former head coach Kevin Wilson and former Offensive Line coach Greg Frey, the Indiana Hoosiers have developed a culture that cultivates quality offensive linemen. Jason Spriggs and Dan Feeney both earned All-American honors and young players like Coy Cronk and Brandon Knight look like future stars. That success intrigued Florida’s Tyler Knight and he became one of the first commits of the 2017 class, pledging his allegiance to IU way back in November of 2015. Knight chose the Hoosiers over offers from Illinois, Iowa State, Louisville, Maryland and Purdue and he is considered a 3-star prospect by every major recruiting service.

Knight’s height and length appears to make him an ideal future tackle for the Hoosiers and he got an early start on his career by signing and enrolling in January. Given the depth along IU’s offensive line, Knight is expected to redshirt during his freshman season but Coy Cronk and Brandon Knight both played as true freshmen so the big man from the Sunshine State could surprise and earn playing time in 2017.
