Big Ten Network was onsite for their annual fall camp tour as the Hoosiers took the practice field this morning kicking off their second week of fall camp. Today was the first time we could see them in full pads. Here are some updates from head coach Kevin Wilson:

  • Tackle Brandon Knight was out of practice with a foot injury that Wilson did not think was serious.
  • Defensive lineman Robert McCray has suffered a shoulder injury. Husky Jayme Thompson has been limited with turf toe.
  • Incoming freshman Ryan Smith will not join the team until January as he is dealing with a Lis Franc injury suffered in the winter that will hold him out until November. Wilson cited it as a way to get some time back for him and gives the team more options.
  • Wilson also heaped a lot of praise on freshman running back Tyler Natee, calling him Ron Dayne.
  • As far as the quarterback battle is going, Wilson wants to wait and see who the team rallies around. He also said both Diamont and Lagow are playing well, but need to improve on different things. He says that they need to do a better job of calling plays in practice.
