Indiana 14 vs. Bowling Green 12: Half Time Thoughts

Written By Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)

1. The offensive line has struggled opening holes up for Tevin Coleman (2.6 yards per carry). IU will need a running game in the second half if they want to win.

2. Nate Sudfeld has looked good (16/20 174 yards), but the offense needs to put more points up on the board.

3. The defense has kept the Hoosiers in the game so far holding BGSU to 12 points and 199 total yards. Flo Hardin and Nick Mangeiri have been flying around.

4. Erich Toth has been awful today. Averaging 25 yards per punt.

5. It’s time to ditch the two QB system. It does nothing to help Sudfeld and IU is 0 for 2 with it today. Chris Covington has looked lost and has been stuffed on two fourth down plays.

Indiana vs. Bowling Green: First Quarter Thoughts

Written By Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)

1. Bowling Green took the first drive 49 yards in 14 plays for the field goal. The IU defense looked aggressive, as they had multiple shots at picking off a Knapke pass.

2. Bowling Green is daring IU to throw on them. The Hoosiers looked ok on the first drive but are forced to punt after an 8-play 27-yard drive.

3. BGSU went for it early on a forth down in their own territory. Rolling the dice.

4. No running room for Coleman early and Wilson is using Covington like Roberson.

5. The Hoosiers have to use the pass to open the run game. BGSU is crowding the line and Coleman has nowhere to run.

6. The Hoosiers have 7 points on one BGSU turnover.

7. Bandit Nick Mangeiri has been all over the field.

8. Sudfeld looks much sharper than week 1

Is the Hoosier Defense Ready For the Falcon Fast Offense?

The Indiana Hoosiers know something about going up-tempo on offense, but will their defense be ready for Falcon Fast? Despite losing their starting quarterback Matt Johnson, the Bowling Green offense is going to push it.
