Every college football fan is on pins and needles while waiting for the latest news on whether or not the 2020 season will start on time. On Tuesday the Football Bowl Subdivision conferences along with the TV networks extended their June 1st deadline for announcing the kick times and channels of early season games.

“Collectively, the conferences and television networks have agreed to an extension for determining college football’s early season game times beyond the standard June 1 deadline,” the statement reads. “These kickoff times and network designations will be announced at a later date as we all continue to prepare for the college football season.”

Fans should not panic however. While late May and early June are when kick times start to trickle out this is not an indication on whether or not the 2020 college football season is going to happen. On a day when the National Hockey League announced their return to play plan and with the National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball working on getting back to competition, this is mainly to see how crowded the airwaves will be when the fall rolls around.

Big Ten and college football fans, while they may not like it, are used to having to wait on kickoff times. Many kickoff times for games later in the season are not announced until 12 days prior to the event with some even being announced just six days in advance as they wait for the networks to duel it out for the best games.

As of now the Hoosiers are set to open the season at Wisconsin on September 4th. Keep coming back to Hoosier Huddle as we will update you on what is a very fluid situation.
