Tom Allen will Live Tweet Friday Night's 'Hoosiers Classic' Featuring Indiana's 2018 Rain Soaked Win over Virginia

On Friday night Indiana head coach Tom Allen will live tweet during the latest edition of ‘Hoosiers Classics’. This week Indiana Athletics has been re-airing some classic Indiana football games and Friday night’s edition features Indiana’s rain soaked victory over Virginia in 2018. The rains came and never ceased on this September evening in Bloomington, Indiana as the Hoosiers and Cavaliers faced off in the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon which unleashed an all-day down pour.
Both squads came into the contest off of season opening wins. In a game that could’ve swung either team’s momentum in various directions. The Hoosiers would hold on for a 20-16 victory as then-freshman running back Stevie Scott III had a breakout performance and the defense held an explosive offense in check. The Hoosiers also survived a few special teams gaffs. The defense combined for nine tackles for loss and was led by seniors Jonathan Crawford and Dameon Willis Jr.
After this game both teams’ seasons went in different directions, the Hoosiers would finish the year a disappointing 5-7, just missing out on a bowl while the Cavaliers would finish the year 8-5 including a win over South Carolina in the Belk Bowl.
