The Indiana Hoosiers played both quarterbacks for the first time since Peyton Ramsey was named the starting signal caller the week following a loss at Penn State. Ramsey, a redshirt freshman who has thrown for 1,252 yards and 10 touchdowns while completing 65.4 percent of his passes, was knocked out of the game against Maryland twice and is considered day-to-day by Tom Allen.

Allen said at his press conference on Monday that, “we're always trying to find everything we can do to give our team the best chance to win. Whoever that is, that's who it's going to be.”

Indiana’s other option is fifth-year senior Richard Lagow who lost his starting job after poor performances against Virginia and Penn State. Lagow started the first five games of the year before coming in to the game in relief of Ramsey against Maryland. For the season, he has 812 passing yards and six touchdowns with a 56.8 percent completion rate. He played well after not seeing the field, outside of one pass against Michigan, the last three games. He completed 12-of-21 passes for 131 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Allen said after the game at Maryland that he was proud of the way Lagow was ready to go, he added he “thought (Lagow) did some really good things. Just proud of those guys and the way they executed.”

Allen did not name a starter for Saturday’s noon matchup against the fourth ranked Wisconsin Badgers and it probably will not be determined until later in the week or on game day. However, if Allen is true to his word and give the quarterback who gives the Hoosiers the best chance to win going forward the ball, it’ll be Richard Lagow. Ramsey, who showed a ton of guts trying to come back into the game after getting pummeled, hasn’t been as mobile as he was early in the season and without the threat of his legs is just not the best option for Tom Allen and Mike DeBord to get back on the winning side of the ledger.
