The accolades keep on coming for the Indiana Hoosier offense as Tevin Coleman was named to the Doak Walker Award watch list Thursday afternoon. This award is given to the nation’s top running back. The award is presented by PwC SMU Athletic Forum and is named after SMU running back Doak Walker. This will be the 25th year that the trophy has been awarded and it is the only award that requires the recipient to be in good academic standing.
In 2013 Coleman led the Hoosiers with 958 yards rushing in just nine games. He also tallied 12 touchdowns accounting for one score in each of the games he played in. Coleman averaged 106.4 rushing yards per game to become the first Hoosier to average over 100 yards per game since Levron Williams in 2001. The junior running back led the nation in runs over 40 yards with eight.
