Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson updated the media on his team's status Tuesday afternoon on the weekly Big Ten Coaches Teleconference. He are some of the highlights:
- Wide receiver Simmie Cobbs, who was injured on his first play from scrimmage Saturday, has undergone ankle surgery and will be "on the shelf for awhile" according to Wilson. Cobbs does have a redshirt year available to him, but that will work itself out as his recovery timeline becomes clearer.
- All-American guard Dan Feeney, who missed the majority of Saturday's game, is going through IU's concussion protocol. Wilson had no negative news on how he was progressing.
- Wilson also talked about wide receiver/running back Camion Patrick, who has missed the first two contests while recovering from a knee injury suffered in the spring. He said, "his knee is healthy and strong", but has not been fully cleared for all practices just yet. Patrick will also probably start his season out at receiver to alleviate some of the pounding on his knee that would come from playing running back.
