The Indiana Hoosiers received a commitment from JUCO WR/DB Louis Moore on Thursday afternoon. While Moore was a productive wide out who also played defense at Navarro College, he will be the one delivering the hits at IU.

“They love my ball skills and that’s my best attribute playing safety.” Moore told Hoosier Huddle They plan to have me playing all over the secondary. I’m playing straight defense at IU.”

Moore made 18 tackles in 2021 and caused and recovered a fumble on defense. The Hoosiers have a veteran laden defensive backfield in 2022 and Moore will have time to develop and learn the defense. He has four years to play three, so he could use a redshirt if needed.

Moore chose IU over three other FBS offers because they saw the potential he has.

“I chose IU because since the first time i was contacted by them in my recruitment, they showed me that they see the potential in me that I see in myself, and they have shown nothing but love.” Moore explained.

However, head coach Tom Allen was the biggest selling point.

“The major selling point on my visit was Meeting Coach Allen after already being showed love by all the coaches on my visit. Coach Allen is a great a man and from the time he started talking to my family and I in his office, I just thought his speech was phenomenal and I knew that was home before he was even done talking.” Moore explained.

Moore was primarily recruited by safeties coach Jason Jones and was hosted by cornerback Tiawan Mullen when he came to visit campus.

“Coach Jones is who recruited me, and we’ve built a great relationship and I know he believes in me and I’m ready to show what I can do. Coach Hanson and coach (Lee) Wilbanks are two recruiting coordinators that were with me on my trip and I built a relationship with them to. My host was Taiwan Mullen, and he’s one of the top players on the team and we connected with how we approach the game on and off the field and I look forward to sharing the field with. That’s my boy now.” Moore said about his recruitment.

Moore wants to bring his ball-hawk mentality to the defensive backfield.

“I’m a competitor, and I’m bringing that attitude to Indiana, and everybody loves my ball skills and I’m a ball hawk on defense, and I get that from my time of playing receiver, and I can’t wait to make that impact at Indiana.” Moore said.
