Nic Toomer has had himself an impressive first two games. Racking up five tackles and an interception. Mostly, an important a key block against the Buckeyes that led to a pick by Phillip Dunnam. The six-year senior and Stanford travel is taking this opportunity to showcase what he can do at the next level.

“Nic has done a great job. He’s a guy that I say this in the press box at the time during games. You can tell the guys that are battle-tested. Especially in early games. This is a young guy making young guy mistakes. Or this a guy with a veteran pressense. Nic has a veteran pressence. You can tell he’s played significant snaps before. Obviusolly at Stanford.” said Co-Defensive Coordinator Matt Guerrrieri this past Monday.

Out of Tryone, Georgia Toomer was an athlete who impressed the Hoosiers during his recruiting process. Thus, when Toomer put himself in the transfer portal after last season, the Hoosiers were one of the first one’s to call.

At his high school Sandy Creek, Toomer was a track-star whom received multiple awards in the 400 meter, 4x400, and the Triple Jump. At football, Toomer was a three-star who displayed physical hard hitting frame.

Toomer continues to elevate his game everyday and every practice according to Coach G. The sky is the limit for the young man. He hopes to take this large playing opporuntinuty or the Hoosiers and run with it.

“He’s elevated every day in the way he competes. He’s physical got length. You saw his range to go intercept a pass. You see him mix it up in perimeter run support and edge control and things like that. Pleased with Nic and expert him to continue.”
