Indiana Hoosier wide receiver Simmie Cobbs announced his plans to declare for the 2018 NFL draft on Twitter Thursday afternoon. Cobbs was Indiana's leading receiver in 2017 after missing all but one play in 2016. This past season Cobbs earned all-conference honors after catching 72 passes for 841 yards and eight touchdowns. Cobbs finishes his Hoosier career with 1,990 yards and 12 touchdowns on 139 receptions.

Cobbs's statement on Twitter reads:

" First of all, I would like to thank my family and friends that have had my back and supported me since day 1. This has been a tough decision for myself, but life is all about decisions. I have decided that to pass on my 5th year at Indiana University to declare for the NFL Draft. Indiana has been my second home and I have made many friends through this amazing process. Indiana gave me the chancer that no one else gave me and I will forever be grateful for my time there. I will miss my teammates and my brothers, but I know you guys will attack life and be amazing people! Once a Hoosier, always a Hoosier! L.E.O #UnoOut"
