A source confirmed to Hoosier Huddle on Thursday morning that running back Ronnie Walker has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. He is the third Hoosier, joining Coy Cronk and Peyton Ramsey, to enter the portal since the Hoosiers played in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.

Walker came to Indiana as a four-star recruit out of Hopewell, Virginia prior to the 2018 season. In his two seasons with the Hoosiers Walker showed flashes of his ability, but never really materialized into a feature back. In his Hoosier career he ran for 221 yards on 59 carries and caught 12 passes for 112 yards. He scored three total touchdowns while at IU.

The Hoosiers will return both Stevie Scott, who has led the team in rushing the past two seasons, and Sampson James who started the final two games in place of an injured Scott. James ran for 275 yards on 81 carries and scored three touchdowns as a true freshman in 2019. The Hoosiers also signed three-star running back Tim Baldwin in the 2020 class.
