In order for the Indiana football team to improve on offense in 2018 the Hoosiers needed to bolster the offensive line. The Hoosiers did just that by landing Nick Linder, a graduate transfer who played at University of Miami (FL) from 2014-16. Linder started 26 games (22 at center 4 at guard) before sitting out the 2017 season. At six-foot-three and 300 pounds, Linder adds so beef to the center position and has one year of eligility at Indiana. The Hoosiers finished eighth in the Big Ten in sacks allowed and 12th in rushing offense in 2017.

Indiana head coach Tom Allen said in a release from the school that, "Nick Linder had a very strong career at Miami and we are excited to welcome him to our football program, he will be completing his master's degree through the Kelley School of Business and he will be an important addition to our football team."

Linder was a three-star recruit coming out of Florida power St. Thomas Aquinas before being just one of two players in 2015 to start every game at the same offensive position for the Hurricanes. Linder's brother, Branden is the starting center for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL.
