Howard "Expected" to Declare for NFL Draft

According to a report from Eric Galko of Optimum Scouting, Indiana University running back Jordan Howard is expected to forego his senior season and declare for the 2016 NFL Draft. Howard hasn't officially declared for the draft nor has he signed with an agent but Optimum Scouting believes that those steps will be taken soon.

A number of injuries limited Howard during his lone season at IU but he was still able to amass 1213 yards and nine touchdowns and an average of more than six yards per carry. His NFL Draft stock will surely be helped by the terrific games he had against stout run defenses in Michigan and Michigan State. If he makes this decision official and departs for the NFL, the Hoosiers will likely rely on Devine Redding to carry the rock in 2016. Mike Majette, Alex Rodriguez, Andrew Wilson and Ricky Brookins could also all be factors in the backfield. Plus, there's a whole lot of practicing to do before the 2016 season kicks off so new players could emerge.

Hoosier Huddle will update this story as soon as new information becomes available.
