How Former Hoosiers Fared in Week Eight of the 2021 NFL Season

Week Eight saw a couple of former Hoosiers play in Indianapolis as the Tennessee Titans faced the Colts. Here is how the IUFB alumni did last week in the NFL.

Rodger Saffold – Tennessee Titans (6-2)

Rodger Saffold got the start at guard on Sunday against the Colts. Saffold helped power the Titan’s offense to 34 points and a victory on the road in Indianapolis.   

Tevin Coleman – New York Jets (2-5)

Tevin Coleman was inactive on Sunday for the Jets comeback win over Cincinnati. Coleman is dealing with a hamstring issue and is week-to-week.

Nate Sudfeld – San Francisco 49ers (3-4)

Nate Sudfeld backed up QB Jimmy Garoppolo during the 49ers win over the Chicago Bears.

Dan Feeney – New York Jets (2-5)

Dan Feeney saw most of his playing time come on special teams during the Jets’ comeback win over Cincinnati.   

Ian Thomas – Carolina Panthers (4-4)

Ian Thomas caught one pass for 10 yards in the Panthers’ win over the Falcons. Thomas has 11 receptions this season for 130 total yards. 

Wes Martin – New York Giants (2-6)

Wes Martin saw playing time on special teams during the Giants’ loss to Kansas City on Monday Night Football. Martin has seen the field in each of his last four games.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine – Tennessee Titans (6-2)

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine found the end zone again, his first TD in the state of Indiana since his Hoosier days. Westbrook-Ikhine had two catches for 16 yards and a touchdown in the victory. The former IU wide out has 13 catches for 131 yards on the season and two touchdowns.

Jason Spriggs – Atlanta Falcons (3-4)

Jason Spriggs saw playing time on special teams during Atlanta’s loss to Carolina. Spriggs has made an appearance in every game this season.

Jamar Johnson – Denver Broncos (4-4)

Jamar Johnson was inactive for the Broncos win over Washington. The rookie defensive back has not been active in a game yet this season.

Jordan Howard – Philadelphia Eagles (3-5)

Jordan Howard was activated off the Eagles practice squad for Sunday’s game and immediately made the most of it. Howard scored two touchdowns, had 57 rushing yards on 12 carries – good for a 4.8 average yards-per-carry. Howard hopes to build off this performance next week.
