Six Indiana Hoosiers were active during week 8 of the 2020 NFL season. It’s getting to be that time of year where injuries are affecting everyone. Let’s take a look around the league and check in on these former Hoosiers in the pros.

Rodger Saffold, LG, Tennessee Titans (5-2)

Rodger Saffold and the Tennessee Titans suffered an upset loss against the Cincinnati Bengals. Saffold helped pave the way for over 200 team rushing yards, but ultimately it wasn’t enough to outscore Cincy. The Titans remain atop their division, but now having lost two straight games, they hope to turn things around fast.

Jordan Howard, RB, Miami Dolphins (4-3)

Jordan Howard’s up and down season continued with another week of being inactive. After scoring touchdowns in each of his first three games, Howard has not seen the field in several weeks. Miami won the game and improved to 4-3 on the year, but the former Hoosier running back hopes he can make his way back onto the field soon.

Tevin Coleman, RB, San Francisco 49ers (4-4)

In Tevin Coleman’s first game back from injury, he carried the ball three times for 20 yards. Coleman has struggled staying healthy this season. In fact, his entire team has been ravaged by injuries. The 49ers are now .500 and in last place in their division. Hopefully Coleman can stay right and provide San Francisco with the offensive boost they need.

Nate Sudfeld, QB, Philadelphia Eagles (3-4-1)

Nate Sudfeld was inactive for the Eagles showdown against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. Philadelphia is below .500 but stand alone atop the NFC East. Sudfeld has been inactive for several consecutive weeks.

Dan Feeney, LG, Los Angeles Chargers (2-5)

The Chargers keep finding crazier ways to lose games. This Sunday, it came on the final play of the game as Denver scored a touchdown with no time on clock to eclipse LA by one point. LA is struggling this season, but Feeney has been largely solid. Rookie QB Justin Herbert has also looked solid so far. If Herbert ends up being the real deal, Feeney and the Chargers could have an awfully bright future.

Ian Thomas, TE, Carolina Panthers (3-5)

Ian Thomas caught three passes for 28 yards on Thursday night as the Panthers fell to the Falcons. Thomas has 10 receptions for 78 total yards and one touchdown this season. The three receptions on Thursday were the most in a single game Thomas has hauled in this year.

Wes Martin, OL, Washington Football Team (2-5)

Wes Martin and the Washington Football Team were off with a bye week.

Brandon Knight, OL, Dallas Cowboys (2-6)

After some unexpected success filling in for injury, Brandon Knight suffered an injury of his own. The rookie offensive lineman underwent knee surgery last week and will remain on the injured reserve list for the foreseeable future. Dallas, meanwhile, continues to struggle through an injury-ridden 2020 season.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, WR, Tennessee Titans (5-2)

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine did not record a statistic in Tennessee’s loss against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Jason Spriggs, OT, Chicago Bears (5-3)

Jason Spriggs was active in an emergency role for the Bears loss to the Saints on Sunday. He played well when he was in.

Simon Stepaniak, OL, Green Bay Packers (5-2)

Simon Stepaniak was inactive for Green Bay’s disappointing home loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The rookie offensive lineman has not been active on gameday yet this season as he acclimated himself to the NFL.

Tegray Scales, LB, Free Agent

It has been reported that former standout linebacker Tegray Scales will be given a tryout with the Detroit Lions. Scales was signed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad a few weeks ago but was released. The legendary IU linebacker continues to find a place for himself on an NFL roster.

Total Hoosier Touchdowns: 4 (Jordan Howard 3, Ian Thomas 1)
