How Former Hoosiers Fared in Week 14 of the NFL Season
/Written by Evan McShane
Several notable Hoosiers found themselves active on Thursday, Sunday, and Monday. A dozen former Indiana football players have carved out a role in some capacity for an NFL team. It's been an up-and-down year for the running backs as Tevin Coleman and Jordan Howard have both battled injuries throughout the season. Here's a recap of what all the Hoosiers in the NFL were up to during week 14.
Tevin Coleman – San Francisco 49ers
Tevin Coleman was limited in San Francisco's shootout victory over the New Orleans Saints. Coleman received just 3 carries for 6 yards and no receptions. As the 49ers enter the home stretch, they will look to secure a first-round bye in the playoffs.
Jordan Howard – Philadelphia Eagles
Jordan Howard was inactive once again for the Eagles overtime victory over the New York Giants.
Ian Thomas – Carolina Panthers
Ian Thomas has found a role in the Carolina Panthers offense late in the season. After posting his best performance of the year last week, Thomas one-upped his production this week. Thomas hauled in 5 receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown. Although Carolina's season is lost, Ian Thomas is making the case to be the Panthers' tight end of the future.
Cody Latimer – New York Giants
Cody Latimer was active but did not record a reception in New York’s overtime loss to the Eagles on Monday Night Football. Latimer has 16 receptions for 223 yards and one touchdown this season.
Nate Sudfeld – Philadelphia Eagles
Nate Sudfeld was active as the backup QB for the Eagles Monday Night Football victory over the Giants.
Chris Covington – Dallas Cowboys
Chris Covington was inactive for the Cowboys Thursday night loss to the Bears.
Dan Feeney – Los Angeles Chargers
Dan Feeney got the start again in LA's blowout victory over the Jaguars.
Brandon Knight – Dallas Cowboys
Brandon Knight was active for the Cowboys loss to Chicago on Thursday night.
Wes Martin – Washington Redskins
Wes Martin was active for Washington's loss at Green Bay.
Roger Saffold – Tennessee Titans
Roger Saffold got the start in Tennessee's blowout victory over the Raiders. The Titans have a chance to win the division.
Robert McCray - Cleveland Browns
Robert McCray was signed to the Cleveland Browns practice squad two weeks ago, but was inactive for the Browns win over the Bengals.
Jason Spriggs – Green Bay Packers
Jason Spriggs remains on Injured Reserve.
