Hoosiers Land RB Christian Turner From Portal

The Indiana Hoosiers have been looking far and wide for additional talent through the transfer portal and they hosted a number of visitors this week with hopes of adding to the 2023 roster. One position they definitely need more depth is at running back with Josh Henderson returning as the only running back with significant playing experience. Running back Christian Turner, transferring from Wake Forest and a native of Georgia, committed to the Hoosiers on his early January visit and provides a solid boost to the backfield.

Turner began his career at Michigan and appeared in 14 games for the Wolverines over three years. He then played for the past two seasons in Winston-Salem for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and their unique “slow mesh” offense. He rushed for 1,022 yards with 12 touchdowns and added nine receptions for 68 yards with one touchdown. He will spend his last season of eligibility in Bloomington. He is 5’11” and 200 pounds and this past season, he averaged four yards per carry on 128 attempts. That included 7.7 yards per carry with 100 yards against VMI, 5.8 yards per attempt against Army and 4.3 yards per attempt against Syracuse.

Hoosier Huddle will continue to cover the fallout and commitments from the week’s visits.
