Kervens Bonhomme, a hard-hitting Canadian linebacker, committed to Indiana University earlier today. Bonhomme’s commitment brings the Hoosiers’ 2019 incoming class total to 12. The three-star recruit from St. Catharine, Ontario, but Bonhomme will play his senior year of football at Clearwater Academy International in Florida. Kervens Bonhomme will call Bloomington home as he helps continue to push the Hoosier defense into elite territory.

Allen’s family-first attitude helped lead Bonhomme to Bloomington. IU’s head coach and his staff are trying to build a family atmosphere around the football program, and it appears to be paying dividends in recruiting. Bonhomme stands just over 6-foot-1 and 234-pounds. Bonhomme is ranked in the top-900 nationally and ranked 62nd in the country among all outside linebackers. He garnered well over a dozen scholarship offers playing in Canada. The Hoosiers beat out Nebraska, Rutgers, UCF, and a number of other programs to earn Bonhomme’s commitment.

Bonhomme is talented and built for Big Ten football. His stature and sheer power will become a force in the running game. Bonhomme will play in both linebacker slots and he has some awfully big shoes to fill. Chris Covington (Dallas Cowboys) and Tegray Scales (LA Rams) are both in the NFL after historically productive Hoosier careers. Bonhomme will join Dorian Jones, who also committed earlier today, to try and reinforce the linebacking corps at IU. Based on the tape, it looks like Indiana is in good shape at this position moving forward.

The Hoosiers are on fire. Since Friday, IU has added JeramyPassmore, Matthew Bedford, Larry Tracy, Michael Katic, and CJ Person. On Tuesday alone, the Hoosiers picked up Sean Wracher, Dorian Jones, Gary Cooper, and Kervens Bonhomme. IU got better today on and off the field and the Indiana football program is on the upswing.
