While most of us have been on lockdown, the Indiana Hoosiers football staff has been red hot on the recruiting trial. On Monday morning the Hoosiers received a verbal commitment from Bishop Dwenger in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Fiacable should be a familiar name as Vinny’s older brothers Mike (2015-18) and Steve (2009-10) both played for the Hoosiers while his brother, Nick, is currently on the IU staff. His father also played for Indiana. Vinny is rated a two-star prospect and the 25th best player in Indiana by 247 Sports.

Fiacable made his announcement on Twitter saying:

I am thankful to be blessed by God with the ability to play football and have a deep love for the game. I am also lucky to have had so many people who have wished the best for me, and have put me on the right path! Thank you to all who have helped me throughout this process, especially My Family, all the Coaches at Dwenger especially: Coach Garrett, Coach Svarczkopf, Coach Fabini, Coach Kolkman. Also would like to thank Becky Levi, Josh Collins, Jason Russell, Charles Dowdell, and Kenny Mullen for always pushing me to be the best I can be! Thank you to everyone who Coached me and pushed me in grade school, which was the very beginning and most important years of my football career: Coach Effinger, Coach Smeltzley, Coach Witte, Coach Cagnet, Coach Watercutter, and my dad. Most of all I want to thank my teammates over the past couple years of playing football. My favorite part of this game is the fact that 90 guys can all come together and be bought into the same goal. The bond that we all have and the love that we have for each other, really deepened my love for football, and I didn’t experience that bond to that high of a degree until my sophopmore year. My teammates have definitely played a big role in shaping the person I am today, and I wouldn’t be where I am without them! With that all being said, I am excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at INDIANA UNIVERSITY!!!

Fiacable is listed as a six-foot-four 290-pound guard. He played tackle in highs school, but has the skill set for a college guard. He chose Indiana over 14 other offers. His offer list included Louisville, Cincinnati, Ball State, Columbia, Eastern Michigan, Fordham, Illinois State, Indiana State, Ohio, Princeton, San Jose State, Western Kentucky, Western Michigan and Yale.

The Hoosiers currently have four commitments in their 2021 recruiting class and it is ranked 41st nationally and 11th in the Big Ten
