The Hoosiers added another massive piece to their 2022 recruiting class as six-foot-five offensive lineman Demon “D.J.” Moore chose the Hoosiers over Purdue. Moore had 13 other offers including Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State and a slew of other Power Five schools. Moore, out of Fort Wayne Snider, had only taken visits to IU and Purdue.

As you can see in his film, Moore has massive size and is a mauler in the run game with a really great push to the second level. He will have to really work on his flexibility with his hips, but his size and physicality are things IU has not had up front (especially at guard) in a while. Moore has pretty good feet for a someone that big, but again, will have to really work on developing a bit more athleticism in his lateral movements at IU. He played tackle at Snider but definitely kicks inside to a guard spot at IU. There is no doubt that he can be an impact elite starter in the Big Ten.

Hoosier Huddle talked to Moore way back in January of 2020 (pre-pandemic!) about his junior day visit and he came away impressed.

“My experience was very good junior day was just was getting to know the coaches and touring the facility iu as a school is amazing the staff showed nothing but love the biggest takeaway was how much effort they actually put in making sure their players are training right.” Moore said.

Moore is rated a four-star prospect by Rivals.com and a high three-star by 247 Sports Composite rankings. He is the 12th commitment in Indiana’s 2022 recruiting class that now sits 20th nationally and fifth in the Big Ten.
