As a member of the Bishop Dwenger High School football program, Luke Wiginton has grown accustomed to success. State semifinal appearances in 2017 and 2019, along with a state championship in 2018, will have that effect. Now, he is ready to take this winning culture to the next level.

“It’s been great taking what I learned being a part of a winning culture in high school and applying it to whatever I can do to contribute here,” said Wiginton.

Wiginton was a 2019 Indiana Football Coaches Association Top 50 and All-State selection in Indiana. His individual performance earned him the ranking as the ninth best prospect in the state according to Rivals.

Wiginton enrolled early and has already begun the adaptation process from the high school to the college game. This has been a process that he feels has actually gone “pretty smooth”, due in large part to the competition he grew familiar with facing in the Fort Wayne area.

“Workouts are intense, but I love them because I know everyday that you go in there, you’re going to get better and you’re working towards a greater goal that the team wants to accomplish.”

For now, Wiginton is focusing on keeping his head down and doing whatever he can to make both himself and his teammates better: just what you’d expect from an offensive lineman with Indiana roots. He’s not sure what to expect in the future, but rather is focused on his day-to-day actions that will lead to the success he’s used to when it comes.

“I just want to try and focus on going out there and giving 110% and getting better every day.”
