The Indiana Hoosiers had a pair of players honored on Monday as the Associated Press All-American teams were announced. Wide receiver Ty Fryfogle and linebacker Micah McFadden earned third-team All-American honors from the AP for their efforts in helping IU to a 6-1 regular season.

“It's a really big honor, really thankful to receive this honor in this is a blessing” Fryfogle said. The senior was also Indiana’s first ever recipient of the Big Ten's Richter-Howard Receiver of the Year Award. Fryfogle made 34 receptions for 687 yards and seven touchdowns. His back-to-back 200-yard performances against Michigan State (200) and Ohio State (218) was the first time in Big Ten history that a receiver had consecutive 200-yard performances. The Mississippi native is the first Hoosier wide receiver to take home All-American honors since James Hardy in 2007 and the first Hoosier offensive player to earn those honors since Dan Feeney in 2016.

On the defensive side of the ball, Micah McFadden earned third-team All-American honors by putting up 52 tackles, 39 solos (4th in the Big Ten), five sacks (T-3rd) and 8.5 tackles for loss (T-7th) to go along with two interceptions (T-8th) and three quarterback hurries.

“So honored just want to thank all my teammates my coaches and, you know, my family for pushing me, encouraging me and helping me throughout this this difficult, weird season but glad the, the momentum that this team has and really excited for this bowl game coming up.” McFadden said on Monday. McFadden was also a first-team All-Big Ten selection.

With Fryfogle and McFadden earning All-American honors the Hoosiers now have 53 players (59 times) in their history that have been named to an All-American team.

The Hoosiers are set to take on the Ole Miss Rebels in the Outback Bowl on January 2nd in Tampa, Florida.
