Former Alabama DB Brylan Lanier Commits to the Hoosiers

The Indiana Hoosiers have received a commitment from former Alabama Crimson Tide cornerback Brylan Lanier on Friday afternoon. Lanier was a three-star corner out of Cottondale, AL and originally committed to play at Georgia State before transferring to be a walk-on at Alabama. He will have four years of eligibility left.

Lanier is a six-foot-one, 170-pound cornerback who did not play at Georgia State before transferring to Alabama where he brother played. He also did not see any game time with the Crimson Tide, but was named one of the Bear Bryant Outstanding Non-Scholarship Award winners in spring practice.

Lanier will give the Hoosiers depth and versatility in the defensive backfield after the Hoosiers lost a few defensive backs expected to be in the rotation to the transfer portal. His length should play well in the Big Ten.
