We are now 73 days until the long-awaited 2020 Indiana football season. Kickoff is set for Friday, September 4th in Madison, Wisconsin. Repping the cream and crimson No. 73 jersey again in the upcoming season will be Tim Weaver.

Name: Tim Weaver

Position: Redshirt Freshman OL

Hometown: Hellertown, Pennsylvania (Saucon Valley)

Height: 6’5”

Weight: 307 pounds

Surpassing the close-to-home offer from Rutgers and four other schools, Tim Weaver decided to carry his football career to Bloomington. It was not hard to tell that the Hellerstown, Pennsylvania native had the qualities an offensive lineman would need to succeed at Indiana.

Weaver’s list of high school accolades is highlighted by his leadership as team captain at Saucon Valley High School, where led his team to a 10-3 record and was selected to the Big 33 Classic and earned first team all-state honors his senior year. Weaver earned two all-area and all-conference honors in his time as a Panther, and the team picked up three district runner-up finishes and two conference championships in his four years as a letter-winner.

Upon arrival to Bloomington, Weaver weighed in at 285, and made strength training a focal point in his development. Opting for a redshirt, Weaver thrived in his sideline role and earned scout team player of the week twice in his redshirt season— for a job well done in prepping for Maryland and Penn State.

The now 307-pound Weaver has the body and experience that should gain him a taste of the college field in the upcoming season. Only time and training  will tell just how much of an impact he will make. One thing is for certain— Weaver is a valuable leader and definite asset to the Hoosier offensive line.
