Ewald Earns Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week

Senior kicker Mitch Ewald was named Special Teams Player of the Week by the Big Ten this afternoon. This is his second time winning the award and the first since the final week of 2010. Ewald accounted for 11 points in Indiana's 63-47 loss to the Wolverines Saturday, and set a new career long with a 50-yard field goal right before halftime.
On the year Ewald is a perfect 36 for 36 on extra points and five for five on field goals with a long of 50 yards. For his career Ewald is 49 of 60 on field goals and a whopping 141 of 142 on extra points. Earlier in 2013 the senior was selected to the Lou Groza Award Watch List.
